The Shmitah year is drawing to a close, but the farmers still have many long months to go until they’re ready to harvest their new crop next year and bring in income. During these days of mourning for our Beis Hamikdash and praying for Geula, here’s something specific we can do to bring the Geula closer! Chazal tell us that the mitzvah of Shmitah is so important, it has the power to bring Moshiach. במוצאי שביעית בן דוד בא Throughout this year, the N’shei Keren Hashviis has raised about $800,000 on behalf of our farmers’ wives – money that goes towards covering their basic household expenses, like food, clothing, or a visit to the dentist. But we’re still far short of our goal, and these families are counting on us to help them fulfill this vital mitzvah.

The goal of the Galus to Geula campaign is to raise $500,000 to help these heroic farmers’ wives. And by supporting Shmitah, each one of us can tap into the powerful bracha that the Torah promises Shmitah observers.
Shmitah isn’t their mitzvah; it’s our mitzvah. Every person in Klal Yisrael is obligated to ensure that Eretz Yisrael lies fallow this year.

The farmers’ families are bearing the brunt of the  sacrifice, every moment of every day for an entire year. It’s our job to make sure they have the support they need to complete thi special mitzvah. Right now, as we mourn for our Beis Hamikdash, let’s come together to do something to bring the Geula.
